Around Half a Kilogram of Ganja Recovered from Car's AC Blower in Muzaffarpur's Gaighat, Ruckus Ensues
In line with the ongoing special campaign against the drug trade, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) and local police achieved a major breakthrough. Near the Maithi toll plaza in the Gaighat police station area of Muzaffarpur district, the police searched a suspicious car and recovered approximately half a kilogram of ganja (cannabis). The smugglers had cunningly hidden the illegal contraband inside the car's air conditioner (AC) blower so that no one could spot it. The police detained the occupants of the car, which led to a high-voltage drama and uproar at the scene for quite some time.
Action Taken Based on Intelligence Input
According to the information received, the Anti-Narcotics team and district police had received concrete intelligence from secret sources that some smugglers were about to pass through Muzaffarpur with a large consignment of illegal ganja. The smugglers had used a private car to evade police surveillance. Based on this information, a joint team of the police and the Anti-Narcotics unit had set up a trap near the busy Maithi toll plaza in the Gaighat police station area.
As soon as the suspicious car reached near the toll plaza, the police immediately intercepted it for security reasons. Initially, the occupants of the car tried to act normal upon seeing the police and claimed to be innocent.
Jaw-Dropping Discovery: Ganja Found Inside the Car's AC Blower
When the police conducted a conventional search of the car, nothing significant was found initially. No objectionable material was discovered in the vehicle's trunk, under the seats, or in other common areas. However, the team remained suspicious of the smugglers' body language and movements.

With the help of a mechanic, when the dashboard and AC vents were checked, the police were left stunned. Using their cunning minds, the smugglers had hidden the ganja inside the AC blower. Upon opening the blower cavity and looking inside, approximately half a kilogram of high-quality ganja was recovered.
Car Occupants Create Massive Ruckus During Detention
As soon as the ganja was recovered and the police formally detained the people riding in the car, the vehicle's occupants began attempting to pressure the police team. Realizing they were cornered, the accused created a major uproar near the Maithi toll plaza.
They started shouting and arguing loudly, labeling the police action as fake and protesting their detention. This commotion caused brief disruptions to traffic and the gathered crowd near the toll plaza. However, the police force present at the scene remained fully alert. Upholding law and order, the police promptly calmed down the protesting individuals and brought the situation under control.
Interrogation of Detainees Underway, Focus Shifts to Smuggling Network
Upon receiving information about the recovery of half a kilogram of ganja and the subsequent ruckus, the police from Gaighat police station also arrived at the scene. A case has been registered under the relevant sections of the NDPS (Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act. All the detained individuals were seated in police vehicles and safely taken to the police station, where they are being interrogated intensively.
The police are trying to ascertain where the ganja was sourced from and which areas in Muzaffarpur or neighboring regions it was meant to be supplied to. To reach other smugglers and the main mastermind involved in this illegal trade, the police are also scanning the mobile call details of the detainees and checking their past criminal records.

This operation by the Muzaffarpur police and the Anti-Narcotics team has sent shockwaves through drug syndicates. Officials stated that the trade of illegal narcotics in the region will not be tolerated under any circumstances. To counter the new and evolving tactics employed by smugglers (such as hiding goods in AC blowers or secret compartments), the police are now conducting even deeper technical inspections of vehicles.
