Allotment Committee Gifts Housing to Over a Dozen Teachers and Staff

Bhagalpur: A significant step has been taken toward resolving long-pending residential issues within the Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University (TMBU) campus. The university's Quarter Allotment Committee held a high-level meeting and decided to allot housing to several teachers and non-teaching staff. This decision was aimed at streamlining the vacant quarters on campus and addressing the housing problems faced by employees.

Deliberations at the Registrar's Residence

This crucial meeting was held at the residence of the University Registrar. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Sudama Yadav, the head of the Quarter Allotment Committee. The main agenda was to consider the numerous applications that had been pending for a long time and were submitted by eligible candidates. Other members of the committee were also present, who conducted a meticulous review of each application in light of eligibility, seniority, and university regulations.

Thorough Evaluation of Applications

Over a dozen applications were listed during the meeting. The committee members not only assessed the number of available quarters but also took into account the genuine needs of the applicants and their current postings.

Dr. Sudama Yadav stated that the university administration’s priority is to provide housing on a priority basis to those teachers and staff working on campus who have been deprived of housing facilities until now. He clarified that the allotment process is completely transparent and has strictly followed the seniority list.

Who Benefited?

According to the decisions made in the meeting:

Teachers: Quarters were allotted to those teachers from various university departments who had submitted applications a long time ago.

Non-teaching Staff: Group III and IV employees, who are actively involved in the university's administrative tasks, were also provided with quarters, for whom housing is an absolute necessity.

This move by the committee has brought relief to those employees who were previously forced to pay high rents for private accommodation.

Emphasis on a Transparent Process

Amidst the questions and controversies that often arise regarding house allotment, the committee has adopted a completely transparent approach this time. Dr. Sudama Yadav stated that if any person does not occupy the allotted quarter or transfers it to someone else, strict action will be taken against them as per the rules. The university's main objective is to increase the vitality of the campus, which can only be achieved if most of the staff reside on the premises.

Hope for Prosperity on Campus

Experts within the university believe that providing housing to teachers and non-teaching staff on campus will also improve the work culture. When staff reside near the campus, it becomes easier for them to reach the university on time, which will improve the quality of academic work. For a long time, many quarters on campus were in a dilapidated state or under illegal occupation; these have now been cleared and made eligible for new allotment.

Although this allotment is a welcome step, there are still many quarters that are not fit for living due to a lack of maintenance. The issue of ensuring immediate maintenance for the allotted quarters was also discussed in the meeting. The university administration has assured that the repair work for all those quarters will be completed within the next few months.

This decision taken by TMBU through the Quarter Allotment Committee is a major step toward good governance within the university. The meeting, presided over by Dr. Sudama Yadav, has paved the way for peace of mind for dozens of families. It is now expected that the university administration will expedite the resolution of other pending matters as well, to further improve the academic and administrative environment.
