Bhagalpur: In preparation for the holy month of Shravan and the upcoming religious gatherings, the Bhagalpur district administration has stepped up its efforts to ensure the safety and convenience of devotees. The Additional District Magistrate (ADM), along with senior officials from various government departments, conducted a comprehensive inspection of Ajgaibinath Temple Ghat. During the visit, the officials reviewed arrangements related to crowd management, security, sanitation, drinking water, healthcare, lighting, and disaster preparedness. They also issued necessary instructions to the concerned departments to complete all pending work well before the arrival of large numbers of pilgrims.

Special Focus on Pilgrim Convenience

According to the district administration, thousands of devotees visit Ajgaibinath Temple every day during the month of Shravan to offer holy water to Lord Shiva. The number of pilgrims increases significantly on Mondays and other auspicious occasions. Keeping this in mind, the administration has prioritized crowd management, security, and essential public facilities.

During the inspection, officials examined the arrangements for barricading, entry and exit routes, pedestrian movement, and overall crowd control. They directed concerned departments to ensure that congestion and disorder do not occur at any point during the pilgrimage.

Review of Cleanliness and Sanitation

Officials from the municipal body and sanitation department were instructed to maintain regular cleaning of the temple premises, ghats, and surrounding public areas. Given the expected influx of devotees, the administration emphasized the importance of continuous sanitation efforts.

The inspection also covered the availability of dustbins, timely garbage disposal, and the maintenance of clean public toilets. Officials noted that proper hygiene is essential to providing a comfortable and safe experience for visitors.

Security Arrangements Reviewed

Police and administrative officers carefully reviewed the security measures in place at the temple ghat. They inspected the deployment of police personnel, CCTV surveillance, control rooms, public announcement systems, and emergency evacuation plans.

Medical personnel have also been instructed to remain alert for cases involving heat exhaustion, slips and falls, or other emergencies. Adequate arrangements for drinking water and oral rehydration solutions (ORS) were also emphasized.

Electricity and Drinking Water Facilities Inspected

Officials from the electricity department inspected lighting arrangements around the temple complex and river ghat. They instructed staff to repair faulty streetlights and electrical equipment to ensure proper illumination during evening hours.

The Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) was directed to ensure an uninterrupted supply of safe drinking water, establish temporary water distribution points, and maintain hygiene standards throughout the temple area.

Officials Issue Necessary Directions

At the conclusion of the inspection, the ADM held a review meeting with representatives of all participating departments and issued detailed instructions. He directed all agencies to work in close coordination and rectify any shortcomings without delay.

The administration reiterated that the safety and convenience of devotees remain its highest priority. Officials warned that negligence in carrying out assigned responsibilities would not be tolerated.

Local Residents Welcome the Initiative

Local residents and members of the temple management committee welcomed the administration's inspection. They expressed confidence that timely preparations would ensure better facilities for devotees and help religious events proceed peacefully.
