Bhagalpur: As part of its ongoing campaign to strictly enforce the total liquor ban in the state, Bhagalpur police have taken major action once again. The police arrested an individual from the Industrial Area police station limits with liquor. The accused has been identified as Guddu Mandal, who was caught red-handed by the police with intoxicants (beer).
Police Acted on Secret Information
According to the information received, the Industrial Area police received a secret tip from local sources indicating that some individuals involved in suspicious activities were consuming or trading liquor in the vicinity of the Industrial Area. Taking this information seriously, Station House Officer (SHO) Buddhadev Paswan formed a special team and conducted a raid in the area.
Arrested on Friday, Produced in Court on Saturday
The police team initiated an intensive search operation near the Industrial Area on Friday evening. During this time, they spotted a person moving around in a suspicious manner. When the police stopped and searched him, they recovered two cans of beer from his possession. Without delay, the police took Guddu Mandal into custody and brought him to the police station.
SHO Buddhadev Paswan confirmed the case, stating that an FIR has been registered against the accused under the Bihar Prohibition and Excise Act. After completing the necessary questioning and legal formalities, he was sent into judicial custody under police protection on Saturday and subsequently produced in court.
Police's Strict Stance on Prohibition Law
The arrest of Guddu Mandal is an indication of how vigilant the Bhagalpur police are regarding the liquor ban. In sensitive areas like the Industrial Area, where a large number of laborers and employees work, curbing the illegal sale and consumption of liquor is a priority for the police.
SHO Buddhadev Paswan clarified that this campaign against substance abuse will continue in the future. He said, "Our objective is not only to catch liquor smugglers but also to send a message to the general public that no one is above the law. Illegal consumption or smuggling of liquor in any area will not be tolerated, and the strictest possible action will be taken against the culprits."
Local Residents Appreciate the Move
Following this arrest, local residents have praised the swift action taken by the police. Residents stated that police patrolling and such actions in the Industrial Area will demoralize anti-social elements and help maintain law and order in the region.
Currently, further information regarding Guddu Mandal's network is being gathered to determine where he purchased these cans. The police are now working to connect the dots in this case to reach the main supplier.
