A Celebration Centered on Academic Excellence and the National Education Policy
Muzaffarpur: The pride of B.R.A. Bihar University and a historic educational institution, Langat Singh College (LS College), was immersed in celebrations on Friday, July 3, 2026, marking its 127th Foundation Day. Commemorating its glorious 127-year journey, a grand ceremony and special seminar were organized on the college campus.
Historical Significance and Glorious Tradition
The history of LS College spans more than 127 years; it has been a witness to the educational and social reconstruction of Bihar and the nation. This institution has gifted the country many legendary personalities. From the country’s first President, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, to the great freedom fighter Acharya J.B. Kripalani and the 'Rashtrakavi' (National Poet) Ramdhari Singh Dinkar, many such luminaries have taught at this college. Additionally, former Union Minister Dr. Jagannath Mishra and the current Chief Minister of Haryana, Nayab Singh Saini, have been students of this college.
Special Seminar: Deliberation on the National Education Policy
The main highlight of the Foundation Day ceremony was a special seminar held in the college’s historic 'Acharya J.B. Kripalani Auditorium'. The central theme of the seminar was 'The Role of the National Education Policy in Accelerating Educational and Social Development in Bihar'.
College Principal Prof. Kanupriya stated that this Foundation Day is not just an occasion for celebration, but also a day for introspection and resolving to formulate new future plans. She emphasized that the college is seriously considering providing a new direction to Bihar’s educational development in light of the National Education Policy.
Dignity of the Ceremony and Administrative Presence
The program was presided over by Prof. Dinesh Chandra Rai, Vice-Chancellor of B.R.A. Bihar University. Prof. N.K. Agarwal, Director of the Education Department (Higher Education), attended as the Chief Guest, while University Registrar Prof. Sameer Kumar Sharma graced the ceremony as the Guest of Honor.
Atmosphere of Enthusiasm on Campus
The college administration had made extensive preparations for the event. Since Thursday evening, the historic college building had been decorated with attractive milky-white lighting, which further enhanced its beauty. The Principal mentioned that several important steps have been taken over the past year to strengthen academic quality and student facilities at the college, and this Foundation Day serves as a sacred opportunity to further strengthen the commitment to achieving high academic goals.
This Foundation Day ceremony not only served as a medium to pay tribute to the college’s glorious past but also infused new energy to face future challenges through the new education policy.
