Sultanganj: RPF Post and Barracks Shifted to New Building; Enhanced Facilities to Strengthen Security
Sultanganj (Bhagalpur): The Railway Protection Force (RPF) unit of Sultanganj has moved out of its old, dilapidated building and into a modern facility equipped with updated amenities. As per the instructions of the DRM (Divisional Railway Manager) of the Malda Railway Division, the Sultanganj RPF post and barracks were shifted to the new building on Friday. This transition is expected to significantly improve the operational efficiency of RPF personnel and further bolster security arrangements.
New RPF Building Equipped with Modern Amenities
The new RPF post-cum-barracks building is designed with state-of-the-art facilities. Compared to the old structure, the new premises are more spacious and systematically organized. The facility includes well-arranged barracks for the jawans, a modern office space, a secure room for armory (Malkhana), and a separate area for inquiry and public interaction. Furthermore, the premises have been provided with proper drinking water and sanitation facilities, which were previously limited in the old building.
Shifting Completed Under DRM’s Instructions
Prioritizing a better working environment for its security personnel, the Railway administration directed the shift of the Sultanganj RPF post to ensure better security for both the railway premises and passengers. The shifting process commenced early Friday morning. Under the leadership of the RPF Post-in-Charge, all essential documents, computer systems, wireless sets, and other critical equipment were safely transferred to the new facility.
Positive Impact on Security Measures
The relocation to the new building will strengthen local railway security arrangements. With better communication facilities and a professional office environment, the planning for personnel deployment and patrolling will become more effective.
The Post-in-Charge noted that the morale of the jawans has boosted following the shift. He stated, "By receiving better resources, we will be able to discharge our duties with even greater efficiency. Our primary goal is to ensure the safety of passengers and protect railway property, and we now have a much more conducive environment to achieve that."
Improved Accessibility for Passengers
The location of the new RPF post has been made convenient for passengers as well. Travelers will now find it easier to approach the RPF post for any complaints or emergency assistance. The railway administration also plans to activate a help desk in the new complex to provide quick aid to those visiting the station premises.
Railway employees and officers expressed their satisfaction at the time of the transfer. The Railway Engineering Department and the RPF team were instrumental in ensuring the construction and shifting process were completed smoothly. Currently, formal operations have commenced in the new building, and the RPF is ready to handle its responsibilities with renewed energy.
