Severe Warning and Statement from Railway Administration
Condemning the incident in strong words, Samastipur Division DRM (Divisional Railway Manager) Jyoti Prakash Mishra stated:
Loss of National Property: "The Railways operated more than 30 special trains across Bihar, including 12 in the Samastipur division alone, ensuring candidates faced no travel hassles. Despite this, the coaches were brutally damaged. Railway property is the nation's property, and protecting it is the responsibility of every citizen."
Warning on Future Special Trains: The Railways has issued a strict warning that if public properties continue to be targeted in the name of exams, the department may reconsider running special trains for large-scale examinations in the future.
Strict Action Against the Accused
Following the incident, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and the Government Railway Police (GRP) have initiated an investigation to identify the vandals using video footage and photographs. Notably, during the first phase of the exam on June 14, heavy chaos and stone-pelting were reported at Patna's Patliputra station, leading to FIRs against nearly 500 unidentified individuals and several arrests. The Railways added that the miscreants behind the Muzaffarpur train vandalism will be identified and face strict legal actions, including recovery of financial losses and imprisonment.
