NEET-UG Re-Exam Across the Nation and Bihar Today; 1.56 Lakh Aspirants to Appear Amid "Three-Layer" Security

Following the paper leak controversy surrounding the May 3 examination, the National Testing Agency (NTA) is conducting the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination across the nation, including Bihar, today. To ensure a completely malpractice-free, transparent, and secure environment, the state government and district administrations have implemented unprecedented security measures. A total of 331 examination centers have been set up across 35 cities in 34 districts of Bihar, where over 1.56 lakh aspirants are appearing for the test.

 Examination Schedule and Entry Timelines

Single-Shift Examination: The NEET-UG exam is being conducted today in a single shift from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM (total duration of 3 hours and 15 minutes) in offline (pen-and-paper) mode.

Gate Closing Time (1:30 PM): Entry into the centers commenced at 11:00 AM. The main gates of the exam centers were completely locked at 1:30 PM, after which no candidate will be allowed entry under any circumstances.

Mandatory Biometric Verification: This time, Aadhaar-based biometric verification (including fingerprinting and facial recognition) has been made mandatory for every student before entering the examination hall.

Strict Anti-Cheating Measures: "Zero Error" Policy at Centers

Learning from previous lapses, Bihar’s Chief Secretary and Director General of Police (DGP) are personally monitoring the conduct of this examination. The following foolproof arrangements have been established at the venues:

Installation of 5G Jammers: High-tech 5G jammers have been deployed at all exam centers to block cellular networks, Bluetooth devices, and Wi-Fi connections, ensuring no technical cheating occurs.

Digital Locks and GPS Tracking: The question paper containers are sealed with digital locks that are programmed to unlock only at a specific designated time. The vehicles transporting these papers are being tracked live via GPS.

EOU on High Alert: Bihar's Economic Offences Unit (EOU) is conducting digital patrolling to track scamsters spreading fake paper leak rumors on social media, while keeping a close eye on past exam-mafia suspects.

Special Gift for Candidates by the Chief Minister

To facilitate the commute of lakhs of students and their guardians arriving for the exam, Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary announced a significant relief measure. Today, on the day of the exam, travel on all state-run government buses (BSRTC) is completely free for NEET candidates. Students can commute free of charge simply by showing their admit cards. Additionally, dedicated help desks have been set up at major railway stations and bus terminals.
