Monsoon Stalls in Bihar; Stuck in Muzaffarpur for 10 Days, Heatwave Persists in South Bihar

Patna: The progress of the monsoon in Bihar has been significantly sluggish this year. After entering through Purnia and Kishanganj, the northern limit of the monsoon has been stagnant near Muzaffarpur for the past 10 days. Due to its failure to advance, the wait for the monsoon has extended for 16 districts in South-West Bihar, including Patna, Gaya, Chhapra, and Buxar.

Stalled Monsoon Progress: According to the Meteorological Centre, the northern limit of the monsoon is currently stationary around Muzaffarpur. Due to the lack of favorable atmospheric conditions, the monsoon has been unable to advance into South-West Bihar, leading to a delay of about a week in reaching these regions.

Heatwave Crisis: The delay in the monsoon is directly impacting temperatures. Maximum temperatures in cities like Patna, Gaya, Chhapra, and Aurangabad have been recorded above 40°C. Daily life is severely affected by humid conditions and heatwave alerts.

Situation in Seemanchal: In North Bihar and the Seemanchal regions (Kishanganj, Araria, Purnia), isolated clouds are forming, and light rainfall has been reported in some areas, providing minor relief to the residents there.
