Hundreds Benefit from Free Health Check-up and Medicine Distribution Camp Organized by Maa Ahilya Mithila Association and BJP Medical Cell in Darbhanga
Darbhanga News: Rajeev Ranjan Jha, Darbhanga.
With the objective of making healthcare services accessible to people in rural areas, Maa Ahilya Mithila Association, in collaboration with the BJP Medical Cell, organized a free health check-up and medicine distribution camp on Sunday at the Shri Ram Janaki Temple in Kothiya. The camp witnessed a large turnout of villagers, including women, senior citizens, and children, who underwent medical examinations and received expert consultations. After evaluating the patients, doctors distributed medicines free of cost.
People began arriving at the camp early in the morning. Residents from nearby villages also came with their family members to take advantage of the free healthcare services. The organizers ensured a systematic arrangement for patient registration, medical examinations, and medicine distribution, allowing the event to run smoothly without inconvenience.
Specialist Doctors Conducted Medical Examinations
The camp featured consultations by specialist doctors from various medical disciplines. Patients underwent blood pressure and blood sugar tests, weight measurements, general physical examinations, and other necessary health assessments.
Doctors provided consultations for seasonal illnesses, hypertension, diabetes, joint pain, skin disorders, digestive problems, and respiratory diseases. Besides prescribing medicines, they also educated patients about maintaining a balanced diet, engaging in regular physical activity, undergoing routine health check-ups, and adopting a healthy lifestyle.
Medical experts emphasized that timely diagnosis and treatment can prevent many serious diseases.
Special Focus on Preventing Seasonal Diseases
Considering the ongoing monsoon season, doctors conducted awareness sessions on preventing dengue, malaria, viral fever, and waterborne diseases. Residents were advised to maintain cleanliness, prevent water stagnation around their homes, drink boiled or purified water, and use mosquito nets and repellents to protect themselves from mosquito-borne illnesses.
Doctors also advised people not to ignore persistent fever, body aches, weakness, or other serious symptoms and urged them to seek professional medical care instead of self-medicating.
Significant Participation by Women and Senior Citizens
Women and elderly residents participated in large numbers at the health camp. Many women underwent blood pressure and blood sugar screening for the first time. Doctors also educated them about women's health, nutrition, anemia, and the importance of regular medical check-ups.
Senior citizens received specialized consultations regarding arthritis, osteoporosis, diabetes, hypertension, and other age-related health conditions. They were advised to continue prescribed medications and undergo periodic medical evaluations.
Children's Health Also Examined
The camp also included general health check-ups for children. Doctors guided parents on child nutrition, immunization, hygiene, and prevention of seasonal infections. They stressed the importance of a balanced diet and regular health monitoring to ensure healthy growth and development.
Free Medicine Distribution Brings Relief
After completing medical examinations, patients received free medicines according to their health conditions. Many villagers expressed gratitude, stating that financial constraints often prevent them from seeking timely treatment. They said that free health camps like this provide much-needed medical assistance to economically weaker sections of society.
Several beneficiaries appreciated the organizers and suggested that such camps should be conducted regularly in rural areas so that underprivileged families can continue receiving timely healthcare services.
Organizers Highlight the Purpose of the Initiative
Representatives of the Maa Ahilya Mithila Association and the BJP Medical Cell said the primary objective of the initiative was not only to provide medical treatment but also to promote health awareness among rural communities. They noted that many villagers are unable to undergo regular health check-ups, allowing minor illnesses to develop into serious medical conditions.
The organizers also announced plans to conduct similar free medical camps in other villages in the future, enabling more people to benefit from expert healthcare services.
Appeal for Greater Health Awareness
Doctors participating in the camp urged people to undergo regular medical check-ups, consume nutritious food, maintain proper hygiene, and never ignore early signs of illness. They emphasized that most diseases can be effectively managed if detected and treated at an early stage.
A Remarkable Example of Community Service
Local residents praised the initiative, describing it as highly beneficial for rural communities. They said such health camps not only provide access to qualified medical professionals but also supply essential medicines free of charge, offering significant relief to low-income families.
Social workers observed that regular collaboration between government agencies and social organizations in organizing such camps could greatly improve healthcare accessibility in rural areas. They believe such initiatives will increase public awareness about preventive healthcare while ensuring early diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
The free health check-up camp organized on Sunday was more than just a medical event—it served as an inspiring example of community service and collective responsibility toward public health. Hundreds of beneficiaries appreciated the initiative and expressed hope that similar camps would continue to be organized regularly in the future.
